Section A5 - From Meran/Merano to Glurns/Glorenza

The final section of the South Tyrol Cycle Path goes from the spa town and former capital of Tirol, Meran-Merano, past Lagundo, steeply upwards to Tell and through the Venosta Valley to Naturno. The cycle path runs along the Adige River, past Castelbello and Lasa, right into the heart of rustic Venosta Valley. The final section of the South Tyrol Cycle Path involves passing Eyrser Au and Tschenglser Au nature reserves and finally discovering the historical little town of Glurns/Glorenza protected by its walls in the green upper Venosta Valley.

Take a deep breath and let the clear, healing air of Meran/Merano enter your lungs. You can feel the spirit of the spa town with every breath. Mediterranean promenades and parks in front of an Alpine backdrop – this contrast is what provides the special something about the popular spa town of Meran/Merano.

The small medieval town of Glurns/Glorenza, which feels protected by its fully intact wall, may be found in the middle of the wonderful Venosta Valley at the intersection of several mountain passes keeping watch over this diverse valley.
